Specific Product Information

Relevant tech information

Features of DV+:

  •          Utilises pilot actuated operation, allowing for increased throttle response and better drivability.
  •           Replaces weak plastic components with metal components which have been found to solve boost leaks and improve boost holding.
  •           DV+ progressively opens in response to boost pressure – only opening as much as is required.
  •           Capable of handling upwards of 50psi.
  •           Retains factory solenoid coil for seamless integration.
  •           Direct-fit replacement with GFB’s TMS benefits

Use cases:

  •           Applicable for vehicles fitted with an electronically controlled diverter valve from stock.
  •           If an aftermarket turbo from another vehicle is used (such as a Golf R turbo in a GTi), please contact us to confirm fitment.

Self-troubleshooting steps:

-          How do I diagnose my valve?

o   With the valve uninstalled from your vehicle, inspect the piston to make sure that either the orange silicon face or blue VITON seal is undamaged and that there is a small 2mm hole in the centre of the piston. It’s also normal to see some vertical rub marks on the piston. Next, inspect the body and piston together, ensure that the body is clean, and that the piston is able to travel in the bore without being obstructed. Afterwards, inspect the plunger to see if there are any signs of damage or wear. There will be tell-tale signs of damage if the plunger is hitting something that it shouldn’t be hitting.

-          How do I know that my DV+ is working as intended?

o   Uninstall the DV+ from your vehicle and lay the body of the DV+ on its back and press against the piston (with the main piston spring installed). You should be able to freely press against the piston without getting stuck.

-          I’m finding that I’m losing boost whilst on throttle! Help!

o   If you’re experiencing this, we highly recommend double checking that you’ve used our GFB provided plunger spring and not the plunger spring that was included with your OEM solenoid. Using this spring would result in the DV+ to prematurely vent whilst accelerating.

FAQ:

-          I’ve installed the DV+ onto my vehicle, why isn’t it making any noise!

o   Our DV+’s are our full recirculating diverter valve range meaning that it is not able to vent to atmosphere. This also means that you will, unfortunately, not be able to hear a “whooshing” sound after coming off throttle too. If you were interested in one of our valves that were capable of venting to atmosphere, we currently have our VTA and DVX ranges available for select vehicles. If you were interested in this, please use our Vehicle Fitment Search tool or contact us so that we’d be able to find the right valve for you.

-          Why does my piston have a blue seal instead of the silicon one that I’ve seen before?

o   We’ve recently adopted more modern production methods and sustainable materials that have allowed us to evolve our piston seal technology. By changing to a blue VITON seal, we’ve been able to ensure that we’re still able to guarantee the same performance and durability at our high-quality standards. Performance without compromise.

-          I need a replacement piston; how can I get one?

o   If you require a replacement piston due to your current piston being lost or damaged, please contact us at [email protected]. Please be sure to include a photo of the S.XX number that is engraved on the body of your DV+. This is a unique identifier that we need this S.XX number to identify what sized piston is required for your unique DV+ body.

-          I think I’ve disassembled all the required parts of my OEM solenoid but still can’t install my DV+, what do I do?

o   Please ensure that these major components have been disassembled from your OEM diverter valve including: the basket (rev D) or diaphragm (rev G) and the piston shroud. In most cases, the piston shroud is still left on the diverter valve solenoid when attempting to install the body of the DV+ onto the solenoid. We recommend using either pulling out by hand or using a flat head screwdriver to help lever this shroud out. If you’ve removed all these components, please be sure to use the following reference image to help ensure that all components have been removed.

If this still persist, please contact at [email protected]

-          I’ve installed your DV+ and now I’m getting a P2261 CEL code? What is this!

o   If you’ve found that your vehicle has produce a P2261 CEL code after installing your DV+ onto your vehicle, do not fret – everything is okay. What is happening is that your vehicle is triggering the P2261 CEL code in response to the increased throttle response. This, however, is triggered in cases with vehicles with highly sensitive ECU’s. To remedy this, uninstall the DV+ from your vehicle and remove the main piston spring (short, fat spring, not the long, skinny spring).

-          Can I use both a DV+ and a spacer? I want noise!

o   While it is possible to use our DV+ valve and an aftermarket spacer – it is not recommended. We have designed the DV+ to specifically be able to vent as much air as possible and to prevent surge. These BOV spacers tend to be very restrictive and will often not allow enough air to be vented to avoid surge.

-          I’m interested in your lifetime warranty policy, what does this include?

o   We offer lifetime warranty on all of our products, so provided that there is a genuine manufacturing or assembly fault with your product – please send us some photos of what’s going on so that we’d be able to assist with either replacement parts or components. It’s also worth noting that we our lifetime warranty does not extend to those who have purchased our parts second hand.

Next steps:

If you are still having trouble, then the next steps are to contact our Tech Support team. Videos, photos and a clear description of the symptoms you are experiencing would give us a better understanding of what is going on and how to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Remember, we can’t see your car or product, so our diagnosis is only as good as the information that you provide us.
