Self-troubleshooting Steps

How do I know what way to install my SXV?

The SXV is designed to be installed with boost pressure entering the bottom and dumping through the side. You can check for the correct orientation by tracing the 2 large diverter valve hoses with the bottom inlet connecting to the intercooler piping and side outlet connecting to the turbo intake.

How can I test if the SXV is working as intended?

With the SXV uninstalled from your vehicle, we recommend pushing against the piston to see if it is able to travel in the body of the valve freely without getting obstructed. FAQ

I’ve installed the SXV onto my vehicle, why isn’t it making any noise!
Our SXV range are full recirculation only, meaning that it is not able to vent to atmosphere. This also means that you will, unfortunately, not be able to hear a “whooshing” sound after coming off throttle too. If you want to vent to atmosphere, you will need to purchase and install an SXV trumpet (Part# 5703).

I lost one of the spring preload screws, can I just use any screw?
If you’ve accidentally misplaced or lost either your spring preload screw or installation tool, please do not hesitate to contact us to source a replacement. These are custom made screws and are not able to be obtained elsewhere.

I’ve been told that I need to relubricate my piston in my SXV, what do I use?
We recommend using ordinary engine oil. In most cases, there is enough oil vapour passing through with the vented, which is sufficient enough to keep the valve lubricated. Using any other form of lubrication may be too viscous and may significantly affect the operation of the valve.

It’s also worth noting that we our lifetime warranty does not extend to those who have purchased our parts second hand.
