Warning

GFB recommends that only a qualified automotive technician fit this product.

Adjustment and/or tuning is required when installing this product, as it will result in higher boost pressure which could damage your engine if the ECU is not tuned to suit. GFB makes no recommendations regarding “safe” boost levels for your engine. This product is a tuning tool and maximum boost pressure should be determined by an expert, taking into account the capabilities and limitation of your specific engine and supporting modifications.

This product is intended for racing use only, and it is the owner's responsibility to be aware of the legalities of fitting this product in his or her state/territory regarding noise, emissions and vehicle modifications.

GFB products are engineered for best performance, however incorrect use or modification of factory systems may cause damage to or reduce the longevity of the engine/drive-train components.

Specific Product Information

What's Included

  • 1 x actuator
  • 1 x clevis with locknut
  • 1 x inner spring
  • 1 x middle spring
  • 1 x outer spring (pre-installed)

7310 Specific Features

*Please note that whilst this is a physical “bolt-on” product, it should be considered a tuning tool as it CAN increase boost pressure and therefore TUNING MAY BE REQUIRED.

Assembled with the outer spring to give a crack pressure range from 8-12psi, which is suitable for most tuned standard turbo setups. For custom tunes or aftermarket turbos, the included additional springs can be used to configure crack pressures ranging from 5psi to 27psi.

Typically most tunes will require that the OEM actuator's crack pressure is increased by adjusting the clevis pre-load. This gets the turbo system into the higher "control window" of the ECU. The WGA offers two benefits, one is the vastly increased adjustability, the other is a much larger diaphragm area which gives the ECU better control authority.

Features and Benefits

  • The WGA is a high performance internal wastegate actuator designed to improve boost control on internally wastegated turbos. By using a significantly larger diaphragm area than the OEM actuator, the WGA has more control authority over the wastegate flap, meaning exhaust backpressure cannot override the flap position as easily, resulting in more stable and reliable boost control.*
  • Supplied with 3 springs and a unique turnbuckle pre-load adjustment, the base boost pressure can be configured and adjusted from 5psi to 24psi for the best possible boost control.
  • The WGA features a longer stroke, shorter height, and more adjustment than its rivals.

*Please note that whilst this is a physical “bolt-on” product, it should be considered a tuning tool as it WILL increase boost pressure and therefore TUNING IS REQUIRED.

Self-troubleshooting Steps

After installing your wastegate, I’ve found that I’m making 0 boost. What is happening.

  • In most cases, it’s worth noting that it is almost impossible for a wastegate to be making 0 boost. A wastegate “seemingly” making 0 boost is not an indication that it is stuck open. In most cases, we’ve found that if you’re making 0psi worth of boost – your vehicle may be in some form of limp mode due to a possible CEL code. We would recommend using an OBD2 scanner to check for all CEL codes to see if there is an underlying code causing this limp mode to be triggered.
