Features of EX38 Wastegate:

Use Cases:

·         Most aftermarket turbocharged vehicle applications.

Self-troubleshooting steps:

After installing your wastegate, I’ve found that I’m making 0 boost. What is happening.

o   In most cases, it’s worth noting that it is almost impossible for a wastegate to be making 0 boost. A wastegate “seemingly” making 0 boost is not an indication that it is stuck open. In most cases, we’ve found that if you’re making 0psi worth of boost – your vehicle may be in some form of limp mode due to a possible CEL code. We would recommend using an OBD2 scanner to check for all CEL codes to see if there is an underlying code causing this limp mode to be triggered.

I think there is a genuine leak from the wastegate. What can I do?

o   If you do believe that there is some abnormal behaviour from your wastegate, we would recommend performing a full service of the wastegate to better determine its condition. With the wastegate uninstalled from your vehicle, carefully undo the 6 screws holding the cap into position. It’s highly recommended that a press is used to prevent the cap from flying off and causing any potential damage as the cap is spring loaded. Once the cap and springs have been removed, carefully inspect the diaphragm to look for any abnormal wear such as discolouration or tears. If in the case you have noticed some abnormal wear, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] and to send us some photos of the diaphragm in question so that we’d be able to provide relevant information and feedback.
