Self-troubleshooting Steps
Is the unit connected to a 5A fuse and powering up?
- Check voltage at the connection points using a multimeter. You should see 11-14V.
Does the unit turn off when the ignition is off?
- The unit should be connected to an ignition switched power source. This means that the unit will turn on and off with the ignition. A power source is commonly found at a fuse box. A fuse tap can be used.
Does the solenoid buzz on power up?
- Check the solenoid wiring for cuts, melted wiring or any other physical issue.
- If possible, carefully connect the solenoid to a 12V power source. When connected/disconnected, the solenoid should tick. Air should be able to pass through ports 2 and 3 when disconnected from power (port 1 blocked), and ports 2 and 1 when connected to power (port 3 blocked)
When the power is ON and the engine is OFF, is the display not showing 0.0?
- Calibrate the unit.
When the engine is at idle, is zero displayed? While driving on boost, is a positive number displayed?
- This could mean that the pressure reference hose is not connected properly. Physically check that the hose is connected, not pinched, and has a clear path to the intake manifold.
- Ensure that there are no restrictors, or one-way valves in the path between the intake manifold and the EBC head unit.
- Next, disconnect the hose and apply a small amount of pressure (an easy way is to blow on the hose) does the display show both positive numbers as you are doing so?

FAQ
When powered, my boost controller is not at 0. How do I recalibrate this?
Whilst the boost controller is turning on to the “GFB”, hold down the PRESET button. This will recalibrate the boost controller. Process is completed once the head unit displays a “CAL” followed by a “OH”.
My D Force isn’t reading the correct pressure, what do I do?
Disconnect the intake manifold reference hose from the brass fitting joins the hose from your D Force head unit to your intake manifold. With this disconnected, try blowing into the hose to see if your head unit can register pressure. If so, then try to look for any obstructions or damage that may be affecting the intake manifold hose.

Why is my solenoid ticking when I first start up my car?
The solenoid ticks as your first start up your vehicle as a “systems check”. This is nothing to worry about and is just the D Force head unit communicating with the solenoid.
My solenoid isn’t ticking.
The first step is to look at the wiring and connections. Commonly, damage to wiring from contact with the exhaust manifold is enough to cause a short – if this is the case, be sure to relocate the wiring loom to keep away from any potential sources of damage.
